The Orchestra......

The Jack Kramer Orchestra is an all-star ensemble in the best possible sense. Its members boast a seemingly endless list of accomplishments in virtually every area of popular music. Combining their talents, they produce the most electrifying, exciting, and entertaining musical experience to be found. The band has performed for an impressive array of client and parties.

They have performed for all of the major Chicago sports teams, including Bulls and White Sox victory parties; Fall Premiere parties and other events for every Chicago television station as well as WABC-TV in New York (which flew them in from Chicago to New York to play their annual event for nine consecutive years); and holiday parties for major celebrities and corporations, including McDonalds and Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Productions.

A look at some of the band’s roster reads like a Who’s Who on the Chicago music scene:

NANCY DAVIS SHAFFER, vocalist, has toured three countries and 250 cities as a member of Tough Love, one of Chicago’s most prominent rock and roll bands; has been under contract to Warner/Chappell Music, the worlds largest publishing firm, as a singer/songwriter; and has been heard as the lead singer on many widely heard national commercials.

JERRY FRANK, drummer and vocalist, worked on recording projects with Jim Peterik of Survivor as well as with Tim Moore on Elektra/Asylum Records, touring with Tim throughout Europe on bills with The Beach Boys and Linda Ronstadt; appeared as vocalist on the soundtrack of the feature film “Hotwire” and Showtime series “Lonestar Bar and Grill” and also performed on Mickey Gilley’s album “The One and Only”. Jerry has performed the National Anthem at both the Houston Astrodome and Chicago’s Comiskey Park.

ROGER PAULY, keyboards and vocalist, has co-produced television ads with Dr. John, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Fats Domino, with whom he continues to hold a personal friendship. He has produced, written, and performed in commercials for hundreds of clients including Kraft, Seven-Up, Nestle, Toyota, Kellogg’s, and Popeye’s Chicken. Roger has opened for artists ranging from Chicago to Chuck Berry to The Lettermen, and has recorded on Mercury, Fontana, and Capitol Records.

JOE ASARO, guitar, DENNIS ROCHE, bass, and JACK COHN, percussion, comprise the backbone of the rhythm section and the rock and soul of the band. They have been with Jack since the band’s inception; over 15 years.

BOB SAMBORSKI, trombone and arrangements, and MIKE CICHOWICZ, trumpet, form the horn section with Jack, and they too boast a long list of recording credits. They are responsible for the long list of stunning and clever horn arrangements which characterize the band’s unique sound.

THERESA DAVIS and KAY REED, background vocalists, have performed in the same role with some of the most influential R & B artists in the world, ranging from The Emotions to Aretha Franklin. They have been with Jack for many years, providing unmatchable vocal richness and harmonies.
